Superior video auction reportThe Superior Video Auction reported offerings of 34,400 head Oct. 16, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to the last sale, feeder steers and heifers traded steady to $3 lower, except for light weight weaned calves in the Southern Plains which were $1 to $5 higher as demand for wheat pasture calves increases. The supply includes 49% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds 60% of the supply were steers and 40% heifers, with bred stock consisting of less than 1%. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries current through March 2010.
