South Central direct sheep sales

The South Central Direct Sheep sales for the week ending Oct. 16, showed receipts of 1,200 feeder lambs, 300 slaughter lambs, and 500 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter ewes or replacement ewes. Slaughter meat goats were steady. Trading and demand were moderate.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 1200 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00.

Slaughter lambs: Texas, 300 head, Good and Choice 1 to 2, 60 to 70 lbs., hair lambs 95.00 to 100.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 500 head, Selection 1 to 2, 60 to 65 lbs., 105.00..
