Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,113 head Oct. 15, compared to 3,169 head last week and 556 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $3 to $5 higher, and some instances of calves at 300 to 400 pounds were $6 to $7 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm to $2 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 13% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, and feeders 86%. The feeder supply included 64% steers and 36% heifers, with nearly 43% of the run over 600 pounds.
