Colorado cattle auction summaryThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 7,975 head Oct. 16, compared to 8,801 head last week and 8,240 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers at 600 to 700 pounds were $3 to $4 lower, and over 800 pounds were $3 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers at 600 to 700 pounds were $1 to $2 lower, and over 700 pounds were $3 to $4 higher. Steer calves under 600 pounds were steady, and 600- to 700-pound calves were $1 to $2 higher. Heifer calves were mostly steady. Demand was moderate. Trade activity was moderate to active. The supply was made up of 62% feeder steers, and the balance feeder heifers, including about 44% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.
