CCA's Mid-Winter Conference in Colorado SpringsColorado Colorado Cattlemen's Association members and guests from all over Colorado will be traveling to Colorado Springs for the 59th Mid-Winter Conference, Nov. 18 to 20 at the DoubleTree Hotel. This annual event, sponsored by CCA and the Colorado CattleWomen, brings together leaders throughout the state who have made a commitment to improving Colorado's beef industry. During the lunch and awards banquet on Nov. 19, John Fielder, renowned photographer, will be presenting a slide show for his newest book Ranches of Colorado. His presentation will include over one hundred of the project's photographs, and John will tell stories about his experiences working with these remarkable ranchers and exploring their ranches. Make plans to stick around for the Awards Banquet that evening followed by dancing to Carlos Washington and the Steel Horse Band. Committees will meet Nov. 19 to discuss key industry topics including trade, federal lands management, endangered species, private-property rights, and more. Based on these discussions, members will consider and vote on proposed policy resolutions. The members at these meetings will develop policies that will guide the future of Colorado's beef industry. Join CCA members to learn about these beef industry issues and get involved in the decision-making process that shapes the industry's future. "I want to be sure to invite everyone to Colorado Springs in November," states CCA President Tim Canterbury. "Mid-Winter is where we get down to business. Our industry is facing a number of challenges that will be discussed in committee meetings. CCA's members are now faced with a chance to choose the road that CCA will take for the next hundred years, which is why you as members need to be at Mid-Winter." The Mid-Winter Conference will wrap up with the Current Issues Breakfast/Meeting Nov. 20, where each of CCA's affiliates will report on the activities and concerns in their areas.
