Norman 4-Her wins state bread contest

Oklahoma

During the recent 2009 State Fair of Oklahoma, 10-year-old Connor Young of Norman competed in the youth category winning first place. This was not Young's first try. Last year, he won Grand Champion at the Cleveland County Fair and repeated again this year with his made-from-scratch Monkey Bread which won the state bread bake-off. Connor's mom, Katrina Woods Young, said that she had questioned his mixing methods and he said "no, Mom, I am following the recipe!" She left him alone to finish his creation.

Connor is the son of Katrina and John Young and the grandson of Robert and Ellen Wood all of Norman; Pamela Haddon and John Young of Tulsa.
