Dodge City cattle sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 1,788 head, Oct. 14, compared to 2,516 head, last week and 867 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 700 to 925 pounds were $2 to $4 higher. Heifers over 700 pounds were not enough for a market test, although a steady undertone was noted. On a light test, steers at 350 to 700 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Heifers, at 300 to 700 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were firm to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were not enough for a test, all were low dressing. Receipts included 78% over 600 pounds, 19% under 600 pounds, and 3% slaughter cows and bulls with 57 head, early. The feeder supply consisted of 63% steers and 37% heifers.
