Watertown cattle sales report

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 580 head Oct. 14, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

There was no trend due to no sales the past three weeks. Feeder steers made up 87% of the sale, feeder heifers made up 13%, with 100% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 660 lbs., 94.00; 65 head, 754 lbs., 97.40 fancy; 808 to 843 lbs., 93.00 to 93.40 (93.36); 21 head, 902 lbs., 90.50; 43 head, 970 lbs., 86.25; 79 head, 1033 lbs., 84.50 to 85.40 (85.04). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 714 to 734 lbs., 90.00 to 93.50 (91.69); 803 to 848 lbs., 87.70 to 88.00 (87.74); 851 to 867 lbs., 88.00 to 89.50 (88.81); 26 head, 961 lbs., 88.70.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large 3, 5 head, 715 lbs., 52.50; 20 head, 785 lbs., 58.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 621 lbs., 91.75; 9 head, 707 lbs., 88.75; 900 to 948 lbs., 83.00 to 85.75 (84.41); 9 head, 1088 lbs., 83.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 1062 lbs., 78.00.
