Aberdeen cattle sales reportThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 6,404 head Oct. 1, compared to 1,318 head last week and 3,173 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower. There was good demand on feeder cattle with several load lots offered in sale. Moderate demand on spring calves was due to the wet weather. Receipts included 59% steers, 41% heifers, with 74% over 600 pounds.
