Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,790 head Oct. 10, compared to 2,942 head last week and 2,500 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with last week based on a limited test of offerings steers and heifers trending steady, expect for 500- to 550-pound steers that traded $3 to $5 higher. Demand was moderate to good with some Internet activity with moderate trade activity. The total receipts consisted of 55% steers and 45% heifers, with 49% of total offerings weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 348 lbs., 128.00; 5 head, 377 lbs., 127.00; 6 head, 423 lbs., 118.50; 52 head, 453 lbs., 118.60; 501 to 538 lbs., 111.00 to 112.75 (112.24); 574 to 599 lbs., 102.75 to 106.75 (105.31); 603 to 627 lbs., 99.75 to 103.25 (101.86); 657 to 692 lbs., 99.00 to 102.85 (101.73); 703 to 734 lbs., 100.00 to 102.00 (100.47); 16 head, 776 lbs., 96.25; 9 head, 803 lbs., 94.00; 861 to 892 lbs., 91.50 to 93.25 (93.01); 56 head, 972 lbs., 89.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 18 head, 485 to 491 lbs., 106.00 to 107.00 (106.45); 22 head, 554 lbs., 100.50.
