South Central Direct sheep report

The South Central Direct Sheep sales for the week ending Oct. 9, showed receipts of 700 feeder lambs, and 800 slaughter meat goats, and 400 nannies/does, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were weak. There were no slaughter lambs, slaughter ewes, or replacement ewes. Trading and demand were moderate.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 700 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 65 to 85 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 800 head, Selection 1, 65 lbs., 118.00. Selection 1 to 2, 60 lbs., 105.00. Selection 2, 35 lbs., 90.00. Nannies/does, Texas, 400 head, Selection 2, 60 to 65 lbs., 30.00.
