ACGA calls upon Congress to finish energy, climate bills

Keith Bolin, president of the American Corn Growers Association called upon the U.S. Congress to complete its work on the pending energy and climate legislation this year. Bolin's request follows ACGA's annual business meeting held last week in Sioux City, Iowa, where the Board of Directors passed a resolution supporting a market-based cap-and-trade program as the best course to address greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.

ACGA resolution on the pending energy and climate legislation states;

ACGA supports energy legislation including Cap and Trade mechanisms due to the many positive effects on agriculture including carbon sequestration and numerous positive effects on the environment.
