Harrah 4-H member inducted into 2009 Hall of FameOklahoma For one Harrah family, all those years of dedication and hard work have finally paid off as 17-year-old Caitlin Hudson was named to the 2099 Oklahoma County 4-H Hall of Fame. "This is the highest honor a 4-H member in our county can receive," commented Kyle Worthington, 4-H Youth Educator for the Oklahoma County 4-H program. "It's only after many years of being successful in the program that a member is inducted in our 4-H Hall of Fame." And more often than not, Worthington explained, the award has required the dedication of not just the 4-H member receiving the award, but the entire family as well. Harrah residents Casey and Angela Hudson began many years ago helping their daughter with her 4-H projects. Most of Caitlin's emphasis has been in the livestock area, with a special emphasis on swine projects. "I have learned so many skills in 4-H that I will carry with me for the rest of my life," Caitlin said. "I started out my 4-H career as a shy little girl, but now I have learned how to speak in public and interact with people." In addition to her swine and other livestock projects, Caitlin has been involved in several community service projects, including working to build homes with the annual Habitat for Humanity project and donating time to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank. Caitlin is currently attending Redlands Community College majoring in Pre-Vet Medicine. She plans to become a veterinarian dedicated to caring for large animals.
