Lexington livestock sales report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,200 head Oct. 2, compared to 1,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, steers and heifers weighing 800 pounds and heavier trended steady. Demand and trade activity were moderate to good. The total receipts consisted of 55% steers and 45% heifers, with 93% of the total offerings weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 300 lbs., 120.00; 33 head, 384 lbs., 116.00; 11 head, 513 to 525 lbs., 98.00 to 98.50 (98.22); 35 head, 616 lbs., 96.50; 653 to 658 lbs., 95.00 to 96.50 (95.52); 734 to 739 lbs., 93.00 to 95.50 (94.51); 754 to 776 lbs., 96.60 to 101.00 (99.92); 802 to 812 lbs., 94.00 to 96.75 (95.75); 113 head, 851 lbs., 98.00; 902 to 936 lbs., 89.50 to 91.35 (91.04). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 19 head, 755 to 798 lbs., 90.00; 3 head, 811 lbs., 90.00; 856 to 894 lbs., 90.00; 8 head, 998 lbs., 82.50.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 16 head, 314 lbs., 61.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 312 lbs., 107.50; 501 to 521 lbs., 90.25 to 93.75 (92.74); 605 to 641 lbs., 94.00 to 97.00 (95.95); 671 to 692 lbs., 94.00 to 99.50 (97.09); 721 to 744 lbs., 91.50 to 93.25 (92.56); 758 to 798 lbs., 88.75 to 92.00 (90.77); 811 to 836 lbs., 85.00 to 91.35 (89.93); 857 to 895 lbs., 84.00 to 87.50 (86.44); 931 to 948 lbs., 83.00 to 86.25 (85.91).
