Goldthwaite sheep sales reportThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Oct. 2, reported receipts of 2,316 head Oct. 2, compared to 1,497 head last week and 1,645 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stock and feeder goats were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 400 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, few 80-lb. lambs 105.00. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 30.00 to 36.00 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 90 to 110 lbs., 88.00 to 98.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 93.00 to 115.00, few light weights 120.00 to 125.00. Slaughter bucks, 100 to 200 lbs., 30.00 to 46.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 108.00 to 118.00; 40 to 70 lbs., 85.00 to 100.00; Ewes, 90 to 100 lbs., 30.00 to 50.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 122.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 98.00 to 111.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 122.00. Nannies, 80 to 120 lbs., 33.00 to 44.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 85.00, few light weights 90.00 to 95.00. Mutton, Selection 1, 100 to 120 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00.
