Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,942 head Oct. 3, compared to 2,765 head last week and 3,500 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with last week, based on a limited test of calf offerings, steers and heifers traded $3 to $8 lower. Demand was moderate to good with some Internet activity and moderate trade activity. The total receipts consisted of 65% steers and 35% heifers, with 11% of total offerings weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 338 lbs., 115.00; 356 to 374 lbs., 107.50 to 114.00 (111.85); 416 to 429 lbs., 110.50 to 112.25 (111.37); 450 to 490 lbs., 107.50 to 115.25 (111.81); 508 to 548 lbs., 102.25 to 109.00 (106.61); 555 to 595 lbs., 101.00 to 110.00 (106.84); 603 to 638 lbs., 100.00 to 103.25 (102.88); 15 head, 661 lbs., 98.25; 60 head, 836 lbs., 93.25; 20 head, 865 lbs., 91.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 323 to 347 lbs., 110.50 to 112.00 (111.27); 13 head, 415 lbs., 107.00; 12 head, 578 lbs., 98.00; 11 head, 710 lbs., 94.00; 15 head, 769 lbs., 92.25.
