Colorado feeder cattle auction

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 4,308 head Oct. 2, compared to 3,570 head last week and 3,205 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers under 700 pounds were $5 to $6 lower and over 700 pounds were $1 to $2 lower. Feeder heifers under 700 pounds were $2 to $3 lower and over 700 pounds unevenly steady. Demand was moderate to good. Trade was moderate. The supply was made up of 65% feeder steers, and the balance was feeder heifers, 70% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 362 lbs., 118.00; 420 to 450 lbs., 105.50 to 112.00; 450 to 480 lbs., 99.50 to 109.00; 500 to 545 lbs., 94.50 to 101.00; 550 to 595 lbs., 92.00 to 99.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 92.00 to 96.25, calves 93.00 to 96.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 92.75, calves 93.00 to 97.50; 715 to 750 lbs., 91.50 to 97.00; 750 to 775 lbs., 93.25 to 95.50; 800 to 825 lbs., 87.50 to 94.25; 850 to 890 lbs., 88.00 to 91.75; 900 to 930 lbs., 86.50 to 89.85; 950 to 970 lbs., 85.00 to 87.50; 1000 to 1035 lbs., 81.50 to 84.85; 1055 to 1090 lbs., 80.00 to 83.00.
