Pratt livestock auction reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,092 head Oct. 1, compared to 1,201 head last week and 1,404 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, on a limited test, in very limited supply, steers at 750 pounds and under were steady, and 750 to 1,000 pounds were weak to $3 lower. Heifers 350 to 900 pounds were steady to weak. Slaughter cows were $2 to $4 lower. Slaughter bulls to few for test. Trade and demand was moderate. Receipts included 78% 600 pounds and over, 13% under 600 pounds and under, 9% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 73% steers and 27% heifers.
