Ogallala livestock auction reportThe Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 1,650 head Oct. 1, compared to 2,550 head last year, according to the to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to two weeks ago, steers and heifers over 600 pounds were $1 to $3 lower. There was no comparison on weights under 600 pounds. Steers accounted for 34% and heifers 66% of the total offering, with 94% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 504 to 506 lbs., 105.50 to 106.00 (105.85); 563 to 569 lbs., 101.00 to 104.00 (103.11); 628 to 644 lbs., 99.00 to 100.00 (99.79); 660 to 665 lbs., 101.00 to 104.00 (103.56); 6 head, 751 lbs., 98.00; 806 to 849 lbs., 90.35 to 95.00 (92.57); 859 to 896 lbs., 89.35 to 90.75 (89.63); 25 head, 912 lbs., 88.00; 958 to 982 lbs., 86.85 to 87.75 (87.27); 54 head, 1038 lbs., 84.25; 46 head, 1104 lbs., 80.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 17 head, 839 lbs., 88.25; 12 head, 946 lbs., 83.00.
