Angus champions named at 2009 American Royal ROV Show

Angus enthusiasts gathered for the 2009 American Royal Super Point Roll of Victory Angus Show, Oct. 30 in Kansas City, Mo. Jeff Mafi, Stillwater, Okla., evaluated the 149 entries, which included 115 females, 30 bulls and four cow-calf pairs.

Dameron First Class claimed grand champion and junior champion bull honors. Express Angus Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and Dameron Angus Farm, Lexington, Ill., own the April 2008 son of EXG RS First Rate S903 R3.

Garrett Blanchard, Firebaugh, Calif., owns the reserve grand champion bull. Silveiras Trubador 8551 is a November 2008 son of Gambles Hot Rod. He first topped the senior calf division.

K N C Cabin Creek Sandy 804 won grand champion female for Sydney Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif. The February 2008 daughter of B C Lookout 7024 first won junior champion.

WCC Frontier Gal 893 claimed reserve grand champion female for Paige Wallace, Stotts City, Mo. The September 2008 daughter of Exar Lutton 1831 first won senior calf champion.

Larry Green and Savannah Green, both of Hardin, Mont; and Brad and Dawn Gohr, Madras, Ore., own the grand champion cow-calf pair. Greens Princess 7718 is an April 2007 daughter of Boyd On Target 1083. A February 2009 heifer calf sired by EXAR Maximus 5771 is at side.

Keridan Ward, Woodward, Okla., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Exar Saras Dream 6111 is a September 2006 daughter of EXAR Nominal 3550. An April 2009 bull calf sired by S A V Bismarck 5682 completes the winning duo.
