Ride the Range Beef Cow Symposium XXI bus to Casper with the CSU Beef TeamColorado A Western states tradition began in 1969 at Chadron, Neb. That is when and where the first Range Beef Cow Symposium was held. Since then, the event has been held every other year. The RBCS is organized by the animal science departments of Colorado State University, the University of Nebraska, South Dakota State University and the University of Wyoming and rotates locations between Colorado, western Nebraska, western South Dakota and Wyoming. The symposium has continued to grow in popularity, and is now recognized as one of the premiere production beef cattle symposiums in the country. The symposium focuses on beef production issues in the Western states and regularly attracts an audience of 800 to 1,200 attendees and over 80 agribusiness booth vendors for the 3-day event. This year's symposium, boasting over 30 speakers addressing beef production topics such as nutrition, marketing, health, reproduction, consumer demand and current industry issues, will be a great opportunity to listen to nationally recognized speakers on a wide variety of topics. One of the most popular aspects of the Range Beef Cow Symposium are the nightly "Bull Pen Sessions," where the invited speakers are brought back as panelists, and are available for informal question and answer sessions. The twenty-first Range Beef Cow Symposium is scheduled to begin Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. and conclude Dec. 3 at 12 p.m., in Casper, Wyo. The Colorado State University Beef Team has chartered a bus to attend this year's RBCS and would like to invite cattle producers and industry professionals to join us. The bus will be making boarding stops in Pueblo, Adams County, and Ft. Collins on Nov. 30 and returning on Dec. 3. The CSU Beef Team has also blocked a set of rooms in the hotel where the symposium is headquartered. The CSU Beef Team is covering a portion of the bus cost, the net cost per seat for each rider is $80. We ask that this be paid in advance. We have negotiated a room cost of $74 (plus tax) per night. That is for either single or double occupancy. Hotel rooms for bus riders can be booked through our group when you reserve your bus seat. You will need to pay the hotel directly upon check-in.
