Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,208 head Nov. 4, compared to 5,725 head last week and 3,808 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, yearling feeder steers were $1 to $2 higher, yearling feeder heifers were $2 higher. Steer calves were $1 to $2 lower, heifer calves were unevenly steady. Good to very good demand on all types of cattle. Receipts included 44% steers, 56% heifers, with 68% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 366 lbs., 119.00; 433 to 448 lbs., 110.00 to 118.00 (112.48); 452 to 489 lbs., 107.00 to 110.75 (108.96); 511 to 546 lbs., 101.00 to 107.00 (104.72); 95 head, 545 lbs., 109.00 value added; 551 to 576 lbs., 100.00 to 104.00 (101.74); 602 to 649 lbs., 95.00 to 101.00 ( 97.85) calves; 657 to 685 lbs., 93.50 to 97.25 (96.08) calves; 705 to 730 lbs., 94.00 to 98.25 (95.97) calves; 73 head, 787 lbs., 97.70; 821 to 841 lbs., 94.50 to 98.25 (97.54); 62 head, 857 lbs., 98.25; 14 head, 878 lbs., 88.00 calves; 918 to 935 lbs., 94.50 to 95.20 (94.97). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 494 lbs., 99.00; 7 head, 530 lbs., 97.50; 11 head, 583 lbs., 96.00; 13 head, 628 lbs., 95.00 calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 351 to 376 lbs., 96.00 to 97.00 (96.30); 421 to 449 lbs., 95.00 to 98.00 (96.44); 464 to 494 lbs., 91.00 to 96.25 (93.72); 509 to 545 lbs., 86.75 to 94.00 (90.00); 560 to 596 lbs., 87.00 to 92.00 (89.27); 603 to 640 lbs., 86.50 to 90.25 (88.15) calves; 867 to 894 lbs., 89.00 to 91.00 (90.84); 903 to 945 lbs., 86.25 to 90.00 (88.79); 962 to 976 lbs., 88.00 to 88.40 (88.27); 1001 to 1049 lbs., 83.00 to 84.50 (83.36). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 877 lbs., 82.00. Large frame 1, 1053 to 1099 lbs., 83.00 to 83.10 (83.03); 1189 to 1198 lbs., 83.00.
