Huron cattle sales report

The Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 1,350 head Oct. 29, compared to 165 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

The last reported auction with meaningful numbers was several weeks ago, therefore, a trend was not possible. Buyer attendance was light with light to moderate demand. Feeder receipts included 36% steers and 64% heifers, with 56% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 393 lbs., 113.00; 11 head, 428 to 434 lbs., 105.00 to 106.50 (106.10); 17 head, 467 to 497 lbs., 102.50 to 104.50 (104.13); 508 to 548 lbs., 103.00 to 105.25 (104.48); 30 head, 556 lbs., 106.00; 603 to 644 lbs., 102.25 to 106.00 (104.77) calves; 22 head, 703 lbs., 94.50; 16 head, 700 lbs., 95.25 calves; 6 head, 752 lbs., 97.50 calves; 954 to 973 lbs., 83.75 to 89.50 (86.22). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 558 to 575 lbs., 95.00 to 98.50 (97.18); 10 head, 575 lbs., 94.00 yearlings; 20 head, 612 to 643 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00 (94.07) calves; 7 head, 670 lbs., 93.50. Large frame 1, 5 head, 503 lbs., 100.00. Medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 667 lbs., 86.50.
