St. Onge livestock sales reportThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 1,800 head Oct. 30, compared to 4,370 head last week and 4,329 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. The light run of cattle was due to weather therefore there was no accurate comparison to last week's sale, but a weaker undertone was noted. Buyer attendance was good with moderate demand. The supply consisted of approximately 73% steers, 27% heifers, 14% weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 331 lbs., 115.00; 380 to 391 lbs., 126.00 to 127.00 (126.50); 424 to 444 lbs., 109.00 to 114.00 (112.73); 30 head, 401 lbs., 125.00 value added; 470 to 499 lbs., 104.00 to 109.75 (106.90); 454 to 495 lbs., 110.00 to 116.50 (113.05) value added; 504 to 529 lbs., 101.00 to 106.50 (104.31); 506 to 520 lbs., 108.50 to 113.00 (109.10) value added; 569 to 598 lbs., 94.75 to 99.00 (97.48); 566 to 568 lbs., 101.25 to 102.50 (102.05) value added; 605 to 649 lbs., 90.00 to 95.50 (92.46) calves; 652 to 667 lbs., 92.50 to 94.00 (93.30) calves; 814 to 839 lbs., 92.75 to 93.00 (92.90).
