Goldthwaite sheep sales reportThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Oct. 30, reported receipts of 1,190 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,229 head last week and 1,954 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Light slaughter lambs were $8 to $10 higher, heavy weights were steady. Stock and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter cows were $8 to $10 higher. Demand was very good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 300 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 100 to 130 lbs., 60.00 to 75.00; pairs, with small lambs 39.00 to 41.00 per head. Stock bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 330.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 90 to 120 lbs., 95.00 to 111.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 122.00 to 140.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 100 to 140 lbs., 33.00 to 40.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 115.00 to 150.00; 40 to 70 lbs., 115.00 to 125.00; ewes, 90 to 100 lbs., 41.00 to 51.00. Slaughter kids: Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 125.00 to 137.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 120.00 to 137.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00. Nannies, 80 to 130 lbs., 40.00 to 55.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 71.00 to 87.00. Mutton, Selection 1, 90 to 120 lbs., 110.00 to 125.00. Replacement goats: Billies, Selection 1, 80 to 160 lbs., 105.00 to 121.00.
