AdvertisementEricson livestock auction reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,380 head Oct. 31, compared to 1,580 head last week and 4,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with last week, based on a limited test, steers and heifers trended steady, with the exception of 500-pound heifers, which traded $4 higher. Demand was moderate to good and trading active. The total receipts consisted of 55% steers and 45% heifers, with 28% of total offerings weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 374 lbs., 121.50; 17 head, 436 to 448 lbs., 110.00 to 118.00 (112.52); 456 to 485 lbs., 111.50 to 117.00 (115.56); 507 to 546 lbs., 108.25 to 117.00 (112.78); 553 to 595 lbs., 102.50 to 110.50 (104.18); 621 to 635 lbs., 96.25 to 106.00 (101.72); 650 to 699 lbs., 95.00 to 103.50 (98.45). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 309 lbs., 120.00; 9 head, 371 to 377 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00 (104.48); 412 to 433 lbs., 104.00 to 107.50 (105.19); 469 to 483 lbs., 97.50 to 103.00 (100.88); 513 to 538 lbs., 95.00 to 103.00 (99.73); 550 to 576 lbs., 92.00 to 96.50 (95.69); 612 to 632 lbs., 94.50 to 96.50 (95.25); 28 head, 657 lbs., 92.50; 13 head, 955 to 988 lbs., 84.00 to 84.50 (84.35).
