Springfield livestock sales reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,070 head Nov. 18, compared to 3,079 head last week and 2,720 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steer calves under 500 pounds were steady to $2 lower, over 500 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, yearling steers and heifers, all weights, were steady to $2 lower, Holsteins under 550 pounds were $5 to $8 lower, over 550 pounds were steady to $1 lower, spots over 800 pounds were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to light, supply was moderate. The heavy rain in some parts of the trade area curtailed receipts and demand. The feeder supply included 50% steers, 15% Holsteins, 32% heifers, 3% bulls, with 46% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 108.00 to 111.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 102.00 to 110.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 88.50 to 103.50; 600 to 700 lbs., calves or fleshy 84.50 to 96.50; 775 to 800 lbs., 88.00 to 90.50, 700 to 800 lbs., fleshy or calves 81.00 to 91.00; 800 to 875 lbs., 90.50 to 92.00.
