Tulsa livestock auction reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,912 head Nov. 16, compared to 6,023 head last week and 3,833 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were steady, with demand active on lighter weights. Weaned steer and heifer calves and feeders were $2 to $3 higher. There was a higher instance of No.1 new crop calves. Weigh-ups were average to full with good attendance of buyers. Moderate demand was fueled by mostly steady prices for butcher cows. There was increasing interest in bred cows going back to pastures. Receipts were comprised of 49% steers, 45% heifers, 5% bulls, with 8% of cattle over 600 pounds. A total of 494 cows and bulls sold with 40 percent going to packers. Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 to 6 years old, 1075 to 1250 lbs., with 100- to 150-lb. calves, average blacks, 735.00 to 810.00; 8 to 10 years old, 1100 to 1200 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 700.00 to 750.00
