Tulia livestock auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,092 head Nov. 16, compared to 2,170 head last week and 3,539 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $5 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 2% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 97%. The feeder supply included 65% steers, 1% bulls and 34% heifers, with near 65% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 320 lbs., 127.00, 350 to 400 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00; 525 to 550 lbs., 100.00 to 103.00; 600 to 675 lbs., 90.00 to 93.10, lot 654 lbs., fleshy 86.00; 725 to 775 lbs., 88.00 to 91.50, 775 to 800 lbs., fleshy 83.25 to 84.00; 850 to 875 lbs., 87.50 to 89.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 105.50 to 108.50; 500 to 550 lbs., 94.50 to 98.00, lot 596 lbs., 93.00; 625 to 675 lbs., 85.00 to 88.00, 625 to 700 lbs., fleshy 80.75 to 84.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 85.00 to 90.00, package 794 lbs., fleshy 82.00, package 708 lb. calves 78.00; 825 to 900 lbs., 84.50 to 86.00; lot 921 lbs., 69.00, package 971 lbs., 74.50. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, package 390 lbs., 100.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 97.00 to 98.00, lot 495 lbs., fleshy 89.00; lot 584 lbs., 89.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, lot 470 lbs., 95.00; package 674 lbs., fleshy 72.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 325 to 350 lbs., 105.50 to 109.50, package 368 lbs., 103.50; 400 to 475 lbs., 93.00 to 96.00, lot 477 lbs., fleshy 87.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 87.00 to 89.50, 575 to 600 lbs., fleshy 81.50 to 82.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 81.50 to 84.50, 600 to 675 lbs., fleshy 78.50 to 79.50; lot 715 lbs., 85.75; lot 809 lbs., 79.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 37.75; high dressing, 43.25 to 45.50; low dressing, 32.75 to 37.00; 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 37.00 to 39.50; high dressing, 42.00 to 42.50; low dressing, 29.00 to 35.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 40.00 to 41.00; low dressing, 31.00 to 32.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1510 to 1985 lbs., 49.50 to 55.00; low dressing, 1445 to 1720 lbs., 44.00 to 47.75.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 1300 to 1450 lbs., with 100- to 250-lb. calves 880.00 to 900.00 per pair.
