St. Onge livestock sales report

The St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 3,048 head Nov. 13, compared to 6,045 head last week and 3,009 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

This was a lighter run of feeder cattle compared to last week's sale. Feeder steers sold mostly $1 to $2 higher with the exception of some heavier 550 to 590 weights selling $1 lower. Fancy lot loads of 650- to 670-pound steers sold $4 higher. Feeder heifers sold mostly $2 lower. Buyer attendance was good. The supply consisted of approximately 73% steers, 27% heifers, 22% weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 346 to 349 lbs., 110.50 to 117.00 (113.99); 321 to 340 lbs., 125.00 to 130.00 (127.91) value added; 379 to 391 lbs., 116.50 to 118.00 (117.43); 14 head, 358 to 389 lbs., 125.00 to 129.00 (126.35) value added; 44 head, 442 lbs., 116.00; 403 to 433 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00 (122.99) value added; 473 to 497 lbs., 107.50 to 113.00 (110.73); 459 to 472 lbs., 115.00 to 115.50 (115.13) value added; 501 to 545 lbs., 102.00 to 108.00 (105.87); 502 to 510 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00 (112.26) value added; 556 to 599 lbs., 97.50 to 101.00 (99.87); 563 to 576 lbs., 102.25 to 107.50 (104.59) value added; 613 to 647 lbs., 96.00 to 101.25 (98.49) calves; 659 to 673 lbs., 97.00 to 101.50 (100.48) calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 330 lbs., 109.00; 356 to 384 lbs., 101.50 to 104.00 (102.83); 17 head, 362 lbs., 111.00 value added; 409 to 434 lbs., 100.00 to 104.00 (101.91); 468 to 495 lbs., 94.75 to 96.00 (95.27); 513 to 548 lbs., 93.75 to 96.00 (95.24); 550 to 599 lbs., 89.50 to 94.00 (92.92); 600 to 631 lbs., 88.50 to 89.25 (88.93) calves; 11 head, 819 lbs., 90.25; 8 head, 919 lbs., 88.00.
