Goldthwaite sheep sales report

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, reported receipts of 2,812 head Nov. 13, compared to 2,404 head last week and 2,569 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stock and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was very good. The supply included around 40% sheep including near 650 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 90 to 150 lbs., 55.00 to 96.00, 80 to 90 lb. ewe lambs 90.00 to 110.00; pairs, 40.00 to 46.00 per head. Dorper bucks 100.00 to 20.00 per head Barbados ewes, few 80 to 105 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00. Barbados bucks 100.00 to 200.00 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Prime, 90 to 110 lbs., 100.00 to 118.00. Good and Choice 100 to 130 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00. Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 120.00 to 138.00, few to 150.00. Good, 40 to 85 lbs., 90.00 to 115.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 40.00 to 50.00. Slaughter bucks, 120 to 200 lbs., 50.00 to 68.00. Barbados, lambs, 40 to 70 lbs., 100.00 to 122.00, few to 130.00; ewes, 80 to 100 lbs., 40.00 to 62.00; bucks, 80 to 100 lbs., 80.00 to 88.00.
