Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 4,856 head Oct. 26, compared to 948 head last week and 6,118 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week's lighter run, no trend was applicable. However, a slightly firmer undertone was noted on both steer and heifer calves. Slaughter cows and bulls had no recent comparison, however a lower undertone was noted on all classes. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. The supply consisted of 90% feeder cattle, balance slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder cattle supply included 68% steers, 32% heifers, with 20% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 314 to 346 lbs., 126.00 to 127.50 (127.05); 363 to 384 lbs., 121.00 to 129.50 (125.18); 400 to 447 lbs., 117.00 to 127.50 (122.00); 451 to 493 lbs., 109.75 to 118.50 (114.45); 503 to 549 lbs., 100.50 to 109.75 (106.10); 90 head, 524 lbs., 111.75 value added; 550 to 594 lbs., 100.00 to 109.00 (103.80); 600 to 638 lbs., 100.00 to 103.50 (102.91) calves; 95 head, 614 lbs., 108.00 value added; 655 to 673 lbs., 99.50 to 100.00 (99.74) calves; 679 to 695 lbs., 108.50 to 110.00 (109.14) value added.
