Ericson livestock sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,580 head Oct. 24, compared to 2,187 head last week and 2,100 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with last week, based on a limited test, steers and heifers trended steady. Demand was moderate to good and trading active. The total receipts consisted of 54% steers and 46% heifers, with 18% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 350 to 377 lbs., 116.50 to 117.00 (116.63); 17 head, 402 to 436 lbs., 115.00 to 119.00 (117.04); 465 to 497 lbs., 105.50 to 111.50 (109.22); 500 to 530 lbs., 102.50 to 107.50 (104.61); 553 to 599 lbs., 99.00 to 104.75 (102.16); 606 to 645 lbs., 98.00 to 102.75 (99.89); 10 head, 680 to 682 lbs., 93.00 to 94.00 (93.30); 709 to 748 lbs., 94.50 to 95.00 (94.69); 770 to 778 lbs., 91.00 to 92.00 (91.59). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 360 to 391 lbs., 107.00 to 111.50 (109.16); 407 to 429 lbs., 103.00 to 111.00 (107.30); 465 to 489 lbs., 98.00 to 106.50 (101.75); 504 to 542 lbs., 95.25 to 97.75 (96.51); 565 to 581 lbs., 95.00 to 95.50 (95.17); 11 head, 645 lbs., 94.50; 5 head, 667 lbs., 90.50; 718 to 736 lbs., 90.00 to 91.60 (91.08); 15 head, 915 to 946 lbs., 84.00; 5 head, 1040 lbs., 82.00.
