Ogallala livestock auction report

The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market , Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 3,400 head Oct. 22, compared to 1,000 head last week and 2,500 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded $2 to $9 higher. The exception were steers weighing 550 to 650 pounds that trended $2 to $4 lower. Weights over 650 pounds had no comparison due to too few comparable receipts. Steers accounted for 76% and heifers 24% of the offering, with 20% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 316 lbs., 121.00; 351 to 395 lbs., 117.50 to 124.50 (121.63); 432 to 444 lbs., 109.50 to 121.00 (115.32); 406 to 415 lbs., 125.50 to 133.50 (132.15) value added; 458 to 495 lbs., 103.50 to 112.00 (107.33); 453 to 478 lbs., 116.00 to 127.00 (122.71) value added; 507 to 547 lbs., 100.00 to 109.50 (106.63); 550 to 599 lbs., 93.00 to 100.00 (97.87); 601 to 647 lbs., 92.00 to 96.25 (94.42); 650 to 683 lbs., 90.00 to 98.00 (93.51); 701 to 739 lbs., 90.00 to 95.50 (94.45); 833 to 846 lbs., 95.35 to 96.00 (95.52); 915 to 923 lbs., 88.50 to 92.00 (89.85). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 530 to 544 lbs., 95.50 to 98.00 (97.08).
