AdvertisementPratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,318 head, Oct. 22, compared to 1,167 head, last week and 1,293 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers weighing 700 to 1000 pounds and heifers at 650 to 1000 pounds were steady on a light offering. Steers at 700 pounds and under and heifers at 650 pounds and under were not enough for a comparable test, but a steady undertone was noted. Slaughter cows were steady to $3 higher with the most advance on Boners. Slaughter bulls were $1 to $2 higher. Trade and demand was moderate. Receipts included 70% 600 pounds and over, 16% 600 pounds and under, and 14% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 70% steers and 30% heifers.
