Colorado feeder cattle summaryThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 12,800 head Oct. 23, compared to 7,975 head last week and 9,932 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 600 pounds were mostly steady except for 300 to 400 pounds was sharply higher due to increase supply and buyer interest. Steer and heifer calves at 600 to 700 pounds were mostly steady. Feeder steers weighing 600 to 700 pounds were steady to $1 higher, and over 700 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers over 600 pounds were steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate. Trade activity was moderate to active. The supply was made up of 59% feeder steers, and the balance was feeder heifers, including about 40% of over 600 pounds.
