Wichita Farm and Ranch Show set for Nov. 10 to 12 at Kansas Coliseum

Kansas

Wichita Farm and Ranch Show organizers hope visitors reserve Nov. 10 to 12 to attend the 15th annual Farm Show. The show is again located at the Sam Fulco Pavilion at the Kansas Coliseum. Doors open at 10 a.m., daily with Nov. 10 closing at 6 p.m., Nov. 11 closing at 8 p.m., and Nov. 12 wrapping up at 4 p.m.

Admission and parking at the Wichita Farm Show are free.

"We try to add some new events every year, to keep the show fresh and give the producers a reason to keep coming back each year," said Steve Guenthner, show manager.

Featured at this year's farm show are a full line up trailer manufacturers and livestock handling equipment. See the newest in grain and livestock trailers plus a full line of scales and accessories to complement the trailers. Check out several new additions to the squeeze chute demonstrations.

Guenthner encourages everybody to call KFRM Radio 550 AM at 888-550-5376 to reserve his or her free sandwich supper ticket and a chair at the 3rd annual "Market Shoot-Out III" held opening day, Nov. 10.

Do the markets have your head spinning? Unsure of how to maintain profitability for your farm or ranch these days? Who would have thought this year's market would be even more volatile than last years? Speaking of volatility, the market analysts for KFRM will return for the shoot-out and provide insight to these illogical markets. The "Wall Street" affect, fund money, and world production will all certainly be discussed in an entertaining and educational format that will place Pete Loewen, Tom Leffler, Chris Havercamp and Mark Gold in the KFRM Corral for the "Market Shoot-Out II". The sandwich supper starts at 5:30 p.m., with the seminar at 6 p.m. Plan on spending two hours of the best in market training and at no charge.

See local horsemanship clinician Scott Daily twice daily as he works the horse training demos. The free clinic is held each day; Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; Nov. 11 at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Are you looking to upgrade your current livestock handling facilities? Are your facilities in good shape; are they safe for your operators? These two questions can be answered by attending the daily squeeze chute and handling equipment demos at the show. KFTI a.m. 1070 will sponsor the cattle squeeze chute demos each day; Nov. 10 at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.; Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m. See seven different chutes in operation processing cattle at each demo. Becky Rus, Livestock Concepts will supply the medications plus demonstrate proper (BAQ) and handling of her products.

Throughout the three day event Rus will be available to answer any of your questions. Behlen Country is furnishing the crowding tub and panels to correctly handle the cattle during the three days of cattle demos. Central City Scale will have their scale on hand recording weights. Visit the daily squeeze chute demos and have the chance to win a free sorting stick. Sam Howry, regional rodeo announcer, will lead the squeeze chutes demonstrations and offer his comments on the livestock industry.

Stop at the Information Desk and register for three $250 daily cash drawings plus a Nov. 12 afternoon drawing for a Priefert 40 foot round horse pen courtesy of the Wichita Farm and Ranch Show. (Must be 18 years of age or older).

Show hours are Nov. 10, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Nov. 11, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
