Clovis livestock auction reportThe Clovis Livestock Auction, Clovis, N.M., reported receipts of 3,314 head Oct. 28, compared to 2,633 head last week and 3,961 head last year, according to the USDA-New Mexico Department of Agriculture Market News, Clovis, N.M. Compared to last week, feeder steers very uneven but mostly steady to $3 higher, heifers steady to mostly $1 higher. Slaughter cows were $1 lower, bulls steady. Trade was active, demand good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows were 20% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, bred cows 1%, pairs less than 1%, feeders 77%.
