Arkansas livestock auction reportThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 29, showed estimated receipts of 8,535 head, compared to 11,365 head last week and 11,281 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady to mostly $1 lower. Slaughter bulls sold $1 to $2 lower. Feeders sold unevenly, mostly steady to $2 higher. The supply was composed of 5,420 stocker and feeder calves, 1,590 feeder yearlings, 575 replacement cows, 865 slaughter cows and 85 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 38.00 to 44.00; high dressing, 44.00 to 46.50. Boners. 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 38.00 to 44.00; high dressing, 44.00 to 51.00; low dressing, 31.00 to 38.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 35.00 to 41.00; high dressing, 41.00 to 46.00; low dressing, 28.00 to 35.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 27.00 to 33.00; low dressing, 17.00 to 25.00.
