Dodge City cattle sales report

Dodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 3,416 head Nov. 11, compared to 3,202 head last week and 3,912 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers at 450 to 600 pounds were weak to $3 lower, 600 to 700 pounds were firm to $1 higher, and 700 to 950 pounds were steady to $1 lower. Heifers at 400 to 700 pounds were weak to $3 lower, and those at 700 pounds and over were not enough for an adequate test but a lower undertone was noted. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade and demand was moderate. Receipts included 62% over 600 pounds, 32% under 600 pounds, and 6% slaughter cows and bulls with 194 head, early. The feeder supply consisted of 55% steers and 45% heifers.

Feeder cows: Heiferettes, 13 head, 52.00 to 80.50 (65.46).

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, individual 49.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 43.00 to 44.50; low dressing, 38.50 to 42.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 41.00 to 46.00; individual 47.00; low dressing, 33.50 to 39.50. Lt Lean, 37.50 to 40.50; low dressing, 28.00 to 33.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 52.00 to 55.50; high dressing, individual 57.50; low dressing 45.50 to 51.50.
