OKC West livestock sales report

The OKC West Livestock Market Inc., El Reno, Okla., reported receipts of 9,014 head Nov. 11, compared to 7,622 head last week and 5,871 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 lower. Feeder heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good for feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was moderate to good for calves. Quality was plain to average. The supply consisted of 62% over 600 pounds, 38% heifers. Slaughter cows were $7 to $10 lower. Slaughter bulls were $4 to $5 lower. Packer demand was moderate. Demand was moderate for the better quality replacement cows offered. A total of 440 cows and bulls sold with 87% going to packers.
