Grain bids see gains

Grain and soybean bids saw gains in reaction to the lower dollar, higher crude oil, and equity markets, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Nov. 10.

Wheat also saw spillover support from corn and soybeans. Traders eyeing the U.S. Department of Agriculture report released Nov. 10 for direction. This week's export inspections for wheat came in at 17.230 million bushels which was above the high end of trade expectations. Weekly export inspections for corn were at 26.852 million bushels, which was in line with trade expectations and soybeans at 59.939 million bushels, above the high end of trade expectations.

Wheat was mostly 20 to 32 cents higher. Corn was mostly 11 to 19 cents higher. Sorghum was 34 cents higher. Soybeans were mostly 7 to 17 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $5.21 3/4, up 20 3/4 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.67, up 29 to 26 cents; Minneapolis, $5.76, up 27 3/4 cents; Portland, $4.80 to $4.92, up 1 to 7 cents; St. Louis, $3.15, up 10 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.63 to $3.66, up 19 cents; Minneapolis, $3.34, up 14 cents; southern Iowa, $3.26 to $3.46, up 8 to 17 cents; Omaha, $3.53 to $3.62, up 16 to 11 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.32, up 17 to 12 cents; Minneapolis, $9.26, up 8 cents; southern Iowa, $9.14 to $9.32, up 2 to 7 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.62 to $9.77, up 12 to 15 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Nov. 10, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.40 1/2 to $5.70 1/2, up 5 3/4 to 8 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $5.60 1/2 to $5.79 1/2, up 8 3/4 to 12 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $5.65 1/2 to $5.84 1/2, up 9 3/4 to 4 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $5.72 1/2 to $5.87 3/4, up 3 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $4.80 1/2 to $5.30 1/2, up 3 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.84 to $3.92, unchanged.
