St. Onge livestock sales reportThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 6,045 head Nov. 6, compared to 1,800 head last week and 4,329 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. There was a large run of feeder cattle with many good offerings. Compared to last week's lighter run, feeder steers weighing between 400 to 600 pounds sold mostly $1 to $3 higher. Feeder heifers weighing between 400 to 550 pounds sold mostly $3 to $4 higher, with no comparison on other classes of cattle. Buyer attendance was good with good demand and active trade. The supply consisted of approximately 62% steers; 38% heifers; 10% weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 307 to 348 lbs., 113.00 to 119.00 (116.42); 371 to 398 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00 (118.73); 358 to 39 lbs., 122.00 to 129.50 (125.53) value added; 411 to 433 lbs., 108.50 to 111.00 (109.34); 406 to 446 lbs., 117.75 to 125.00 (121.35) value added; 450 to 496 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00 (107.84); 452 to 498 lbs., 111.50 to 118.00 (113.69) value added; 501 to 549 lbs., 101.50 to 108.25 (103.96); 506 to 526 lbs., 109.00 to 113.00 (110.53) value added; 553 to 591 lbs., 96.00 to 102.50 (100.34); 550 to 554 lbs., 103.75 to 107.00 (105.67) value added; 606 to 640 lbs., 96.00 to 100.00 (98.26) calves; 669 to 698 lbs., 94.00 to 96.50 (96.01) calves; 12 head, 723 lbs., 93.00 calves.
