Ogallala livestock auction reportThe Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 4,750 head Nov. 5, compared to 2,200 head last week and 3,200 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers were $4 to $7 higher. Heifers were $2 to $7 lower under 650 pounds. There were not enough receipts to compare that were more than 650 pounds. Demand was active on steers and slower on heifers. Steers accounted for 61% and heifers 39% of the receipts, with 22% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 329 to 339 lbs., 128.25 to 134.25 (132.14); 357 to 373 lbs., 129.00 to 136.50 (131.97); 400 to 442 lbs., 120.00 to 129.00 (126.33); 453 to 487 lbs., 113.00 to 123.75 (120.77); 501 to 548 lbs., 106.00 to 117.50 (111.75); 551 to 589 lbs., 101.75 to 111.35 (107.30); 601 to 649 lbs., 96.00 to 105.00 (101.03); 654 to 680 lbs., 94.00 to 101.25 (97.67); 706 to 733 lbs., 91.00 to 96.25 (94.73); 17 head, 786 to 792 lbs., 91.00 to 93.50 (93.06). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 425 to 429 lbs., 112.50 to 117.00 (114.00); 464 to 496 lbs., 105.50 to 110.00 (106.86); 503 to 544 lbs., 98.50 to 105.75 (103.84); 562 to 596 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00 (98.95).
