Senator Roberts: Congress passes Energy and Water Appropriations Conference Report

U.S. Senator Pat Roberts Oct. 15 announced the Senate passed the Energy and Water Appropriations Conference Report for Fiscal Year 2010 containing critical investments in Kansas' infrastructure. The conference report was also approved by the House of Representatives, and now goes to the president to be signed into law.

"The Energy and Water bill contains millions of dollars for improvements to our daily lives including projects that will make critical investments in our Kansas lakes, streams and rivers for recreation, drinking water and flood control," Senator Roberts said.

The following are Kansas projects Senator Roberts personally worked to include in the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill:

Continued Funding of Corps of Engineers General Investigation Projects

Grand (Neosho) River Basin-$90,000

Missouri Levee System-$291,000

Topeka, Kansas-$143,000

Missouri River Degradation, Kansas and Missouri-$556,000

Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri-$386,000

Continued Funding of Corps of Engineers for Operations and Maintenance

Wilson Lake-$200,000

The following are Kansas projects Senators Roberts and Brownback worked to include in the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill:
