Wyobraska cattle sales reportThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska, western North and South Dakota feedlots for the week ending November. 7, totaled 10,150 head, compared to 10,300 head last week and 9,900 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Compared to last week at Wyoming Auctions, feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $3 lower, instances were $4 lower on calves in Riverton. However, at Torrington Livestock all class of feeders sold firm to $3 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Direct trade was slow. Compared to last week there were not enough comparable sales reported for a good price comparison. Demand was light. Unless otherwise noted direct prices were current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent, and with a 5 to 10 cent slide on calves and 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings from base weight. Steers made up approximately 63% of the total receipts, heifers 37%, with 35% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 1,435 head of the total receipts.
