Springfield livestock sales reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,041 head Nov. 4, compared to 1,645 head last week and 1,747 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture to USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers 450 to 650 pounds were $3 to $5 higher, under 450 and over 650 pounds were steady, Holsteins under 650 pounds were steady to $2 lower, over 650 pounds were steady, heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good, supply moderate. The warm, dry weather has made it near ideal for gathering and marketing cattle. A Special Wean-Vac sale was held in conjunction with the regular feeder cattle sale. The feeder supply included 43% steers, 11% Holsteins, 37% heifers, 9% bulls, with 44% over 600 pounds.
