Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,403 head May 18, compared to 2,115 head last week and 3,097 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder cattle and calves were steady. Weigh-ups were average to full. Demand for all classes of cattle was moderate to good. The supply included 28% over 600 pounds and 40% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 higher. Packer demand was moderate to good for cows and bulls. A total of 533 cows and bulls sold with 65% going to packers.
