NRCS State Technical Committee to meet May 14 in Pierre

South Dakota

The Natural Resources Conservation Service will hold their regularly scheduled session of the State Technical Committee on May 14, at the Ramkota Hotel and Convention Center in Pierre, S.D. The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 10 a.m., CDT. The STC serves as an advisor to the NRCS State Conservationist.

The tentative agenda for the meeting will include a 2008 farm bill programs update. These programs include the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program, Wetlands Reserve Program, Grasslands Reserve Program, Farm and Ranch Protection Program, and Conservation Security Program. Other topics of discussion include FY2010 EQIP funding options, and the Conservation Reserve Program.
