Volunteers needed for Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Riding Program summer season

Volunteers are needed to help Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Riding Program start its summer 2009 session.

New volunteers must attend the training/informational meeting either May 17 at 2 p.m., or May 19, at 6 p.m. Training will be held at 901 West Maple (one-half mile west of Main and Maple), Garden City.

Lessons will run for five weeks, starting May 26 and running through June 30. They will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, and Wednesday mornings. Volunteers choose the time and day they want.

Experience with horses and/or disabilities not necessary. Volunteers must be 14 years old, or accompanied by an adult.
